The Federal Attorneys Act (BRAO) obliges German Rechtsanwältinnen and Rechtsanwälte to have a professional liability insurance for a minimum amount of 250,000 € (§ 51 BRAO).

Alternative Dispute Resolution

In case of disputes between German Rechtsanwälte and their clients each party may apply for alternative dispute resolution (außergerichtliche Streitschlichtung) to the local bar Rechtsanwaltskammer Stuttgart (www.rak-stuttgart.de, according to section 73 para. 2 nr. 3 in conjunction with section 73 para. 5 BRAO) or to the „Schlichtungsstelle der Bundesrechtsanwaltskammer“ (www.brak.de, according to sections 191 et s. BRAO).
